Ceit Fhoirbeis air ràdh nach biodh i air bhòtadh airson pòsadh gèidh
Chaidh Rùnaire Ionmhais na h-Alba, Ceit Fhoirbeis, a chàineadh a-raoir as dèidh ràdh nach biodh i air bhòtadh airson pòsadh gèidh a dhèanamh laghail ann an Alba nan robh i sa phàrlamaid aig an àm.
NEW: Kate Forbes tells @Channel4News she would have voted against equal marriage.
But as First Minister she will not 'row back on rights that already exist.' pic.twitter.com/dspgxxSKpH

Tha e air tighinn as dèidh gun do dh’ainmich a Bh-uas Fhoirbeis an-dè gun seas i airson a bhith na Ceannard air Pàrtaidh Nàiseanta na h-Alba agus na Prìomh-mhinistear na h-Alba.
Chaidh pòsadh gèidh a dhèanamh laghail ann an 2014 nuair a bhòt Buill Phàrlamaid na h-Alba 105 gu 18 air a shon, ach cha deach a Bh-uas Fhoirbeis a taghadh gu 2016.
Thuirt a Bh-uas Fhoirbeis ann an iomadh agallamh an-dè gum biodh i air bhòtadh a-rèir teagasgan a’ mhòr-chuid de na phrìomh chreideamhan a tha ag ràdh gur ann eadar fear is bean a th’ ann am pòsadh.
Chaidh na beachdan aice a chàineadh a-raoir le cuid de na co-obraichean aice san SNP is sgrìobh iad air Twitter nach cuir iad taic ris an iomairt aice a thuilleadh:
We must be full throated in our support of equal marriage. No if or buts. I won’t be supporting Kate’s campaign on that basis. I wish her well- she’s extremely talented. But I have red lines. And this is one.

I welcomed my colleague Kate Forbes’ decision to join the SNP leadership contest given her talents & felt it would give us a real contest: new ideas and a new approach that we desperately need. However, I agree we can’t have a Party Leader who’d vote against same sex marriage.

I absolutely and completely support equal marriage. I am unequivocal on this issue. I cannot continue to support Kate’s leadership campaign

I sit across from Kate Forbes every week.
My marriage isn’t up for debate.
These rights were hard fought for and hard won for me and hundreds of others across Scotland.
They are celebrated by our allies, families and friends.
Our First Minister must stand up for them. https://t.co/rlwLAxEtHr
